You can adjust the receive volume control on the top of your amp base.
If your telephone has a volume control on it, you can also use that to further adjust your speaker volume.
If they have a headset, check that the microphone is near to and facing caller's mouth.
- Check the headset connection:
- VXI: Headset should be plugged into the front port.
- GN Netcom/Danacom: Headset should be plugged into the back port marked GN
- Plantronics: Headset should be plugged into the back port marked PL.
- If the batteries are old, try new batteries.

Other Problems/Questions

13. Can the AC Adapter be used instead of the batteries on any telephone?
Yes.
14. What are the specs for the AC Adapter?
- 120V AC Input
- 9V DC / 100mA Output
- 3.5mm plug, tip positive
15. What type of batteries does the amp use?
Two AA's
16. How long will the batteries last?
- Approximately 250 Days.
- Putting the amp in the Handset mode when not use will extend the battery life even further (beyond 250 days).
17. What phones systems are NOT compatible?
Siemens Dyad Systems and any telephone that has the keypad in the handset. The keypad must be on the base of the phone.
18. Why do I have to lift my telephone handset off hook every time I make or receive a phone call?
- If you do not take the handset off the hook, the telephone keeps the dial tone from coming through. It remains 'hung up'.
- However, some telephones do have an on-hook dialing feature so that you don't have to lift the handset. Check your phone manual on how to take advantage of this option is you have it.
- However, most common phones are not made with headsets in mind and so do not have this feature.
- Look on the phone for an extra mod plug port. You may have a headset port and it may enable you to leave the handset on hook.
19. The jack on the telephone is much too large for the port on the headset amplifier
- Recheck your connections:
- The line cord coming out of the wall stays in your telephone.
- The handset cord is the only cord that is removed from your telephone.
Unplug the handset from the base of the telephone and connect it into the handset port on the back of the Everon amp (there is a handset icon here). - Connect one end of the patch cord (the short cord that came with your amplifier) into the 'telephone' port on the back of the amplifier and the other end into the telephone where the handset used to be connected.
20. Does the amp need an AC power supply?
You can use either two AA batteries, or an AC adapter.
